Hannafords Events signature rainforest event in Port Douglas 'Flames of the Forest', is committed to operating at all its venues in a manner which is environmentally responsible and sustainable. Part of our business strategy is to continually improve our ability to manage the environmental impacts that result from our activities. In doing so, we are operating our business in a responsible, ethical and sustainable manner, ensuring our operations in the rainforest do not contribute to environmental degradation, and that our guests are sure we are operating as we educate – ie: our conservation message is reinforced by our activity, and finally, we are making a positive contribution back to our environment.
Flames of the Forest believes continual improvement in environmental performance is the responsibility of all staff. Therefore, the implementation of our environmental management system commits all staff to the use of best environmental practice. Coupled with the Flames of the Forest Tree Planting Project – One Person, One Tree, One World, we are committed to sustaining and revegetating our precious rainforest environment.
Flames of the Forest and Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) have created this unique re-generation scheme to limit the carbon footprint on our delicate rainforest. For every person who signs their name in a special registrar during the Flames of the Forest experience, CVA in partnership with Flames of the Forest, will generate the planting of one tree on Australian soil. Each guest will have then directly contributed to preservation of local habitats so our soul nurturing rainforests will last another million years.
More than 16,000 trees already planted since 2004!
