Peppers Beach Club

Peppers Beach Club, Port Douglas is committed to environmental sustainability by being an active member in the community, by ‘going green’ and by reducing our energy usage. Peppers Beach Club participates in a regular sustainability meeting that gathers together to establish better work practices that benefit the community and the environment. In addition to this committee, Peppers Beach Club actively changes practices and equipment that can assist the environment such as

• Elective Eco-cleans
• Participation in Earth Hour
• Regular servicing of our air conditioners and have them set at 23 degrees to reduce electricity consumption
• Changed all globes to compact fluorescents and installed photo-electric cells instead of timers for outside areas
• Chipping all our own garden waste and using this as mulch
• Recycling

The above demonstrates are commitment to environmental sustainability however we do not stop there. We are continually striving to find new ways of helping the environment and implementing these into our daily routines.
