Conjoined egg?
Well after 77 days the double crocodile egg which was laid at Hartley's Crocodile Adventures successfully hatched with two perfectly formed baby crocodiles. The clutch of eggs laid by cyclone started to hatch on Saturday with the first of the babies pipping the shell getting ready to enter the world.
By Sunday morning the majority of the clutch had already left the shell with the twins having broken through the egg but with only their heads showing, waiting for the right moment. Upon lifting the egg to check on their health both simultaneously slid out and into the world. www.crocodileadventures.com

Heard of a striped possum?
These rare shy nocturnal marsupials are relatively unheard off outside of conservation and wildlife circles however the Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas is attempting to breed these hard to spot creatures.
These possums(Dactylopsila trivirgata) are endemic to the wet tropics of QLD and PNG and are in decline due to habitat destruction. The striped possum is a solitary animal, venturing out at night to munch on flowers, fruits, beetle larvae and pollen. During the day, it rests on a bed of leaves inside a tree hollow or clump of ferns. In places with coconut palms, it's not unusual to hear a commotion as the possum uses its chisel-like teeth to gnaw through leaves and bark in search of insects causing shreds of leaves and trunk to fall to the ground. www.wildlifehabitat.com.au
